Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare to monitor and control odourisation of gas
- Job requirements and workplace procedures for the work are obtained and discussed with relevant person/s to confirm the work schedule
- Hazards are identified, WHS/OHS risks are assessed and control measures prioritised, implemented and monitored in accordance with workplace procedures
- Scope of work under the relevant work permit/notification is obtained and confirmed with relevant person/s in accordance with regulatory requirements and workplace procedures
- Materials, plans, diagrams, drawings and resources required for work are scheduled and obtained in accordance with workplace procedures
- Responsibilities for first aid and other emergency incidents at the work site are confirmed with relevant person/s in accordance with workplace procedures
- Relevant person/s are consulted to ensure the work is coordinated effectively with others in accordance with workplace procedures
- Person/s participating in gas odourisation are briefed and responsibilities confirmed in accordance with workplace procedures
- Site preparation, safety plan and work schedule are confirmed with relevant person/s in accordance with established procedures
- Monitor and control odourisation of gas
- Hazardous activities are conducted safely in accordance with job instructions, regulatory requirements and workplace procedures
- Gas odourisation equipment is operated and adjustments are made to odourant levels in accordance with workplace procedures
- Gas odourisation is monitored and controlled to the required standard without waste of materials or damage to the apparatus, circuits and the surrounding environment or services using sustainable energy principles
- Odourant is handled and transported in accordance with regulatory requirements and workplace procedures and potential hazards and safety risks monitored and control measures implemented
- Unplanned events and non-routine problems are referred to authorised person/s for directions in accordance with workplace procedures
- Odourant spill response and waste management emergency shutdown procedures are applied in the event of an odourant spill in the workplace
- Quality and safety checks are conducted in accordance with industry standards and workplace procedures
- Complete work and relevant documentation
- Tools, equipment and any surplus resources and materials are cleaned, checked and securely stored in accordance with workplace procedures
- Relevant work permit/s are signed off and equipment returned to service in accordance with job and regulatory requirements and workplace procedures
- Relevant person/s are notified of the completion of the work in accordance with workplace procedures
- Work completion documentation is completed and provided to the appropriate person/s in accordance with workplace procedures
